Lynne Addlem

Lynne Addlem is a Nurse Practitioner who specialises in vaccination. Lynne has completed the following-

  1. Bachelor of Nursing (Latrobe University, 2002)

  2. Post graduate diploma in Advanced Clinical Nursing- Emergency stream (UniMelb, 2005)

  3. Master of Advanced Practice Nursing- Nurse Practitioner (UniMelb, 2022)

  4. Accredited Nurse Immuniser Certification (ACN, 2018)

With over 20 years of paediatric nursing experience in both emergency department and immunisation settings, Lynne holds a current position as Nurse Practitioner and joint clinical lead of the Immunisation Clinic at the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne.

With her expertise, she plays a key role in the education and provision of all scheduled and travel vaccines, including BCG for tuberculosis, as well as offering advice on vaccines not included in the national immunisation program, such as Meningococcal B.

Lynne has expert knowledge of the national immunisation program (NIP) and has extensive experience in consulting families with vaccine hesitancy to help them make an informed choice regarding their child’s vaccination schedule.

When it comes to managing the needle phobic child, through her paediatric nursing background, Lynne is a specialist and co-authored the RCH information sheet on how to manage this. Lynne understands that some children will require a different approach to help make the procedure a sucess.
